A group of inhabitants of the island of Lastovo, fans of the Lastovo Carnival, aware of the value of this unique custom, decided to found the voluntary Lastovo Carnival Association.
The Lastovo Carnival Association was founded at the founding session held on 5 April 2009. It currently has about 100 members.

Antun Karlović is the President of the Lastovo Carnival Association.
The Association’s objectives are organizing and monitoring the organization of the Lastovo Carnival celebrations, preserving and cherishing the Lastovo Carnival tradition and customs, collecting historical material on the Lastovo Carnival, organizing pertinent events, lectures and exhibitions, promoting and encouraging cooperation with art, expert, educational and other associations and institutions aimed at the preservation of cultural goods.
